Alice In Wonderland
Tots and Juniors Summer Workshop
What is the summer workshop about?
Follow Alice on her adventures through Wonderland as she meets the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, March Hare, Griffin, Mock Turtle and of course the Queen of Hearts. This is not the Disney version of the story but it is crammed with brilliant memorable numbers, lots of parts and of course the age old and much loved Lewis Carroll story of Alice on her adventures in Wonderland.
When are these summer workshops?
The Tots are in Wednesday 03 August 2016 – Friday 05 August 2016
from 10am – 3pm for Wednesday and Thursday and from 10am – 4pm on Friday.
The Juniors are in Monday 01 August 2016 – Friday 05 August 2016
from 10am – 4pm daily.
What time is the performance on the Friday?
The performance will be from approximately 2.45pm
What are the ages for each of the groups?
The Tots are from 3 – 6yrs and the Juniors are from 7-11yrs.
If your child is 12 or over then please see the Senior Workshop page.
Where is the summer workshop held?
The summer workshop will be at Temple Moor High School in Halton, Leeds.
Who will be teaching on the workshop?
What are the Breakfast and After Workshop Clubs?
The breakfast and after workshop clubs are for those parents who have to work to be able to allow their child the chance to participate in the Summer Workshops. These are only offered for the Tots and Juniors and not for the Seniors. The clubs run for an hour and half before and after the above times for each summer workshop. These are not included in the price and if you would like to book these in addition then you can do so by selecting them on the application form. Your child will have toast or cereal in in both clubs should they want it and there will be things they can make and a dvd on for them to watch if they would like to do that instead. If there are any food allergies then please make us aware of this.
Who is running the clubs before and after the workshops?
Rachel Hartley who is our admin manager and PA to the Principal will be running these clubs. Rachel is a fully qualified teacher and is fully DBS checked.
What will they need?
The children will need plenty of water but they will be able to fill their bottles at the water coolers as and when needed. They will need plenty of food to last for the day. We usually have 2 snack breaks and then lunch and we do tend to find they eat all of their dinner in the first snack break so please ensure they have enough. There may be little bits of costumes but we would only ask if we believe its something they may already have. You would be told about this during the week of the workshops.
What do they wear?
As long as they are comfortable and they can move in what they are wearing then that is fine. Bare feet, jazz shoes or black school pumps are the best for footwear. They won’t be able to wear trainers. Please don’t send the children in jeans as these are hard to move well in and please don’t send in skirts or dresses. They must wear shorts, leggings or trousers.
What is the price of the summer workshop?
Tots is £60 (you receive a £5 discount on your second child and each subsequent child)
Juniors is £100 (you receive a £5 discount on your second child and each subsequent child)
What about tickets for the performance?
Each child is given 2 tickets free and then they are £2 thereafter.
What if my child attends a dance school elsewhere or not at all?
There is no prerequisite for these workshops. It doesn’t matter if you are new to performing or have been performing for years. We open these workshops to all children regardless of which dance school or performing arts academy they attend.
