WHY IS IT DIFFERENT?

TBL College is proud of its small class sizes allowing for more individual training and more focus on each student within the class. Each of the students at TBL College come to us with different requirements. Some want to work more on their general performance, some on specific technique and some on confidence and audition prep, but all of them are looking to start their journey to a career in the Arts.

All students have talent and we consider it our aim to help them realise and nurture that talent. With three private lessons a week, one in each discipline, we allow students the opportunity to get individual tuition within the areas they are wanting to develop and this allows their tutor the chance to deliver that tuition with specific detail unique to that student.

The students have private lessons for two terms out of the year. The third term is show term.

There are additional qualifications available throughout the course. Not all options are available to all students. It will depend on prior learning and ability as to what for each additional qualification. More details on the additional qualifications available are listed below:

Musical Theatre Exams – There will be the chance for students to work towards examinations with London College of Music (LCM). These exams offer UCAS points from Grade 6-8. There would be an annual examination session. The preparation is done within your private singing lessons and the LCM timetabled class so there is no additional cost for that but there would be an exam fee to pay.

Acting Exams – TBL College will offer the chance for students to work on acting examinations with London Academy of Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). There will be regular examination sessions three times a year. The preparation is done within your private acting lessons so there is no additional cost but there will be an exam fee to pay.

Dance Exams – There will be the chance to enter examinations with the Imperial Society of the Teacher of Dancing (ISTD) and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). These classes will be on the timetable, however, it will depend on your prior learning as to what is available here. The exams are optional but the classes are mandatory to help develop technique
within Ballet, Tap and Modern.

Teaching Exams – For students interested in teacher training we have several options available within each of the disciplines. Prior learning is required for most of these qualifications. To find out more information about these or what prior learning is required, please contact our admissions team
